Knob back plates

Knob back plates, along with knobs, pulls and other cabinet and drawer hardware, are a great way to update your drawers and cabinets.  Knob back plates are decorative plates that go behind a knob on a drawer or cabinet door.  They are generally made of metal and come in a variety of styles and designs.  Knob back plates also come in many finishes, such as chrome, nickel, bright brass, oil rubbed and rust.  They also come in many shapes and sizes.  Many have an oval or rectangular shape but there are also many round designs that mimic the shape of the knob they frame.  The appropriate material and design of knob back plates is going to depend on your existing design elements wherever you are installing the back plates.  Steel brushed silver-tone metals in oblong shapes look great in rooms or on furniture with a sleek modern design.  Rust-colored knob back plates work for rustic, Western style designs.  For vintage-looking glass or porcelain knobs, choose ornate knob back plates in a toned down finish.  For a unique look, try a square set of knob back plates with a set of square knobs in a dark metal finish.  Whatever your taste or style, knob back plates can be an attractive complement to new or existing cabinet or drawer hardware.
